Post-Operative Instructions

Below you’ll find downloadable post-operative instruction sheets for a variety of urological procedures to help you navigate recovery with confidence. These detailed guides outline what to expect and how to care for yourself after surgery. Each PDF includes important information on activity restrictions, wound care, pain management, and when to contact your provider. Please refer to the appropriate instructions and reach out if you have any questions during your recovery.

Disease Specific Questionnaires

To help us better understand your symptoms and tailor your treatment, we’ve provided downloadable disease-specific questionnaires that you can complete before your visit. Each form is designed to assess key aspects of your urological health and guide clinical decision-making. Please download and fill out the relevant questionnaire(s) and bring them with you to your appointment.

Priapism Instructions

Warning: If you have been advised not to take Sudafed (pseudoephedrine HCl) for any reason, the recommendation to try Sudafed to treat priapism does not apply to you.

If your erection does not increase within 2.5 hours, these are the steps to follow:

  • Take 2 tablets of Sudafed, 60mg total of pseudoephedrine (the real kind that you have to ask the cashier / pharmacist at CVS/Walgreens to get behind the counter)
  • Empty your bladder
  • Ejaculate (if you can)
  • Exercise – run around the block, get your heart rate up, to try and divert blood away from the penis and to your muscles
  • Take a shower (hot or cold)
  • Ice pack to the penis

If none of these steps work and you are coming up to 4 hours:

  • If during business hours (8am-5pm), please call 866-367-8768 to schedule a SAMEDAY Appointment.
  • If unable to reach the office or not during business hours, please go to the emergency room.

30 mg version only
